BASIC STAMP 2 software given to RSSC members at our meetings

(these are the sensor demonstrations by Jim Ubersetzig, these always included a handout with software for the Basic Stamp computer module).



'98 June RSSC meeting Demonstrated two robot sensors wired to a single Basic Stamp computer. The sensors were ultrasonic distance measurement and infrared proximity.  Everyone got the handout which includes the mechanical design, electronic design and software listing.

'99 March Robot Builder published "Dual Sensors for a Stamp Part I"  which was a sonar sensor, includes Basic Stamp software.

'99 March RSSC meeting Demonstrated the GP2D02 distance sensor. Everyone got the handout with software for the Basic Stamp 2

'99 April Robot Builder published "Dual Sensors for a Stamp, Part II" which was an infrared proximity sensor with Basic Stamp software that reported obstacle to the right, left and ahead of the robot.   The handout included the Basic Stamp software.

'99 April RSSC meeting Demonstrated my "Circular Navigation System for Robots"
This version had the sensor assembly and the microcomputer attached to a cardboard base.

'99 May Robot Builder published "Optical Distance Sensor for Robots" which describes how to use the GP2D02 sensor. Everyout got the handout including Basic Stamp software.

'99 Oct Robot Builder published "A Circular Navigation System, Part 2" describing how to build the sensor unit, includes software for the Basic Stamp 2 computer.

'99 Nov Robot Builder published "A Circular Navigation System, Part 3" subtitle "Localization", 
includes Basic Stamp 2 software to determine the robots position within a few inches.

'99 Dec SDRS meeting Handed out copies of my three papers on "Circular Navigation System for Robots", also distributed the papers "Dual Sensors for a Stamp Part I and Part II", and "Optical Distance Sensor for Robots" Demonstrated the navigation capability of my robot "Leg", and all of the sensors described in the papers. Handed out the Basic Stamp software for all of these.

'00 Jan RSSC meeting Presented papers "Moving Whisker Sensor, design and construction", "Using Dinsmore Compass Sensor to Find Magnets". Gave away copies of Basic Stamp 2 software for all of these.

'00 March RSSC meeting Displayed 2 Dinsmore compass sensors on a mount (for the magnet finding contest) Gave out copies of the Basic Stamp software.

'00 June RSSC meeting Demonstrated a computer controlled stepper motor board and handed out the Basic Stamp 2 software for it.

'00 July RSSC meeting Handed out complete design and construction documentation for my recently completed line following robot. Everyone got the handout including Basic Stamp 2 software.

'01 Jan RSSC Demonstrated capacitive and sonar sensors (SRF-04, Mini-A, theremin), and gave away copies of the Basic Stamp 2 software.

So in conclusion I suggest that the RSSC class for 2001, use the Basic Stamp 2 computer in their robots, because of the large supply of free software from Jim Ubersetzig, and he is also one of the class instructors - who can help you with any Basic Stamp 2 software.
